As I grow closer in my relationship with Jesus Christ, I have learned so much about following His plan. I try very much to obey Him because I know it is best for me. But I don’t always get it right. There are times when I have good plans, but they are not God’s plans. When things do not go as I planned, I always ask, “What are You showing me God?” I call these, God Redirects.
Change is simply making something different. Change can be good or bad, but it is based on perception. Sometimes, you must let go of something to get something better. If you follow God, you can guarantee you will only get His best for you. Don’t be afraid of change when it is directed by God.
God is the One I put my sole trust into. People, even those close to us, can disappoint you or get it wrong. We are human. We all make mistakes. Obeying God ensures you stay on His perfect path. Because I obeyed God when leaving my job, I knew it was not a mistake even in trials and tribulations. I am confident He was moving me in the right direction and getting me ready for what is next.
Abraham was seventy-five years old when he left everything (Genesis 12:4). This would be comparable to my age when I left my job in relation to how many years Abraham lived. In my situation, God did not tell me to leave everything. However, this was my lifelong career. All my years of education, tuition costs, sacrifices, and experience in the workforce. It has been 14 months since my last day as a professor.
Even while pursuing God’s plan, I have seen God Redirects. We learn more by doing. There are times when God has to show you the wrong ways, so you find clarity in what God wants you do. God will keep you on the right path if you continue to seek Him.
Where is God redirecting you?
