In the final hours before launch, we were working on the website Shop. Normally, I don’t like to cut it this close to launch (and I advise against it), but it was needed to finalize some product details. Thankfully, most of the website was prepared months in advance.
In the minutes leading up to the launch time, 9:23 am, I was writing a learning blog about some product details. It was exciting seeing this vision become a reality. It is here! What God has shown me over the past year.
Personally, I felt that I didn’t get as much done as I wanted to, such as completing the clothing photography (more to come this week). But one thing I did know, there was no delaying Grand Opening Day! God has the perfect timing, and it was clear that our launch date was 08 March 2021.
So, why 9:23 am? Over the weekend while doing these final changes on the website, I needed to take a break. I felt the need to read God’s Word. The Bible provides so much for us, and I wanted to refuel my mind, body, and soul. Currently, I am reading the Gospels and Mark was next. I began reading Mark and a scripture stuck out about Believe, only it wasn’t Mark 9:23; it was Mark 5:36 where …Jesus says, “Do not be afraid; only believe.” It was these red letters and the word, believe, that spoke to me.
This got me searching more and I read Mark 9:23– Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” I knew this was the time to launch Surf 8 Christians!
The cool thing about this time, too, is that I love odd numbers. I am a person that sets her alarm for 8:17, 9:01, 6:37; never 0 or 5 like many. Times ending in 3 or 7 are my favorite. I have no explanation of why, only I have been doing it since middle school when I started getting up for school on my own.
So, what better time to launch God’s business than 9:23 to honor Mark 9:23 and my eccentric qualities? God knows me so well!
